National Preparedness Month - It Takes A Village!

It takes us all working together to avoid the hazards of a community disaster.  So, during the National Preparedness Month campaign, the Topanga Town Council asks every Topangan to take the TOPANGA PREPAREDNESS PLEDGE to make our homes, families, neighborhoods, businesses and environment safe from disasters---especially wildfires since it is our biggest threat right now. 

To make it easy for you to take the pledge plunge, each week between now and the end of October, we will feature a FAST FACT and a TOP TIP on OneTopanga.com that you can easliy do to prepare for an emergency event.  Just follow the few easy steps we've outlined in this article and you will be on your way to making a difference for yourself, your family and community.  On that note, here we go!

The Topanga Town Council will hold its next community monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. online.  If you are interested in attending, register in advance:  https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUoc-msrjgrEt05YnMFY4jAQNYgHSJkv_zh .  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the virtual meeting.  All are welcome to attend the Town Council meetings.  Reports are generally given by local law enforcement, county and state representatives, and local non-profit leaders. SPECIAL TOPIC:  EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS - How you can best prepare for the upcoming fire season.

Bobcat and Mountain Lion Found Dead From Anticoagulant Rodenticide Poisoning


Rat Poison Kills More Than Just Rodents

An adult female bobcat and a subadult male mountain lion have both died directly from the effects of anticoagulant rat poisons in the Simi Hills and Santa Susana Mountains, according to National Park Service biologists.
