Business Highlight - Topanga Seed and Feed

Topanga's Headquarters for Animal Supplies and Special Gifts

by Lindsay Zook, owner of Topanga Seed & Feed

I have lived in Topanga for 20 years, and have been in business for 10 years. My original goal in life was to become an FBI agent and 17 years ago I was on that path, I was accepted into L.A.P.D. academy and was on my way. When my uncle (a long time Topanga resident) passed away I decided I need to live life to the fullest and enjoy every day, I decided to work in a pet store.

Ten years ago the opportunity came up for me to open my own shop in the canyon, and after much debate I decided I would give it a try.  So many people have pets (family members) and I know from personal experience they always have to eat, and what better way to serve the canyon than start a pet store in the heart of town.

I stock a wide variety of pet food and animal supplies.  I have unique custom Topanga wind chimes, and many other gifts. We have been known to have pet adoptions and help the local pet rescue organizations.
Since I have opened the store I have met and married my husband, Paul Pedroza, he is often found working the shop on Sundays. Our son Jack Pedroza can be found at the shop everyday, loading up dog food, stocking shelves and playing. We are family owned and operated, a real mom and pop kinda store.
